Chief Technology Officer (CTO)

About the Role
As our founding CTO, you will own the entire technology strategy and execution. You will build our platform from the ground up, lead engineering hiring, and establish technical culture. You will work directly with the co-founders to translate business vision into technical reality.

Compensation Note: This is an equity-first founding role. We have sufficient founder funding to cover operations through the seed stage, so you can focus entirely on building — not on funding the company. Salary compensation will begin once we secure seed funding, with priority given to our first employees. We are looking for a partner who believes in the mission and wants to build something meaningful.

What You'll Do
- ✓Lead end-to-end product development from MVP to scale
- ✓Define technical architecture, stack decisions, and engineering standards
- ✓Build and lead the engineering team (hiring, mentoring, culture)
- ✓Collaborate with co-founders on product roadmap and technical strategy
- ✓Implement CI/CD pipelines, security best practices, and HIPAA compliance measures
- ✓Manage vendor relationships (cloud infrastructure, APIs, third-party services)
- ✓Contribute directly to code (hands-on development in early stages)
- ✓Establish engineering KPIs and OKRs
What You Bring
- ✓8+ years of full-stack software engineering experience
- ✓3+ years in technical leadership (Tech Lead, Engineering Manager, or CTO)
- ✓Experience building consumer-facing marketplaces or platforms (healthcare a plus)
- ✓Strong proficiency in modern web frameworks (React/Next.js, Node.js/Python)
- ✓Experience with cloud infrastructure (AWS/GCP/Azure), databases (PostgreSQL), and APIs
- ✓Understanding of security, compliance, and data privacy (HIPAA knowledge is a bonus)
- ✓Startup mindset: resourceful, adaptable, comfortable with ambiguity
- ✓Excellent communication skills and the ability to translate technical concepts for non-technical stakeholders
