What Inspires Us
Healthcare in America has become an epidemic of its own. The entire system is built around health insurance, yet tens of millions lack health insurance and even more lack dental insurance. Across America, families put off care. They drain their savings. Or they just give up because the system is too hard to navigate.
We believe healthcare is a human right. It should not cause financial worry. But for the average family, it is one of the biggest expenses. Families spend 8 to 10 percent of their income on healthcare. If they earn less than $50,000, they spend over 12 percent, according to the BLS. Medical problems lead to two out of three personal bankruptcies. That is nearly half a million families each year.
The current US healthcare system is failing. We knew something had to change. So we looked around and found one way to change would be to increase healthcare options available to Americans.
Today, nearly 2 million Americans travel to other countries each year to find affordable care. They go abroad for dental work, surgeries, and other treatments. But traveling for healthcare can be risky and confusing without the right help. We started UbiCliniq to change that.
What We Bring
Built on trust, technology, and decades of experience
Our background is in building things people trust. We have over 40 years in financial services, where we built FinTech platforms from scratch with focus on increasing the access to financial services for consumers, all while protecting consumer confidential identity and financial data.
One of our co-founders personally felt the impact of receiving medical care abroad. The issues range from unknown providers to a complete lack of guidance and support. After overcoming that difficult journey, they realized that thousands of others face the same barriers. That experience became the spark for UbiCliniq.
We bring expertise in data, tech, product building, and business strategy. Financial services and healthcare are two of the most heavily regulated industries, and we know how to build within those constraints. Our experience operating in the former is a key strength that will enable us to create scalable infrastructure with the focus on the end user.
We are building a healthcare marketplace platform that gives control back to people, reduces financial burden, and drives better health outcomes.
